Carnegie Library

Carnegie Library in St. Joseph, Missouri USA is one of the first branch libraries in Missouri. It opened in December 1902. It’s one of the 4 libraries that make up the St. Joseph Public Library. It’s a small neighborhood library. There’s 3 full-time employees and 1 part-time employee. It’s the type of library where we know most of our patrons’ names and what they like to read. The head librarian, Jenny, often puts books on hold for patrons as she processes the new books. It’s Jenny’s childhood library. She’s worked here for over 20 years.

Carnegie Library joined the Sunday Letty Project community because a member of the library’s Afternoon Tea Book Club had heard of it and was sad there’s no shops in the area that participate. Jenny told her it’s lucky she knows a librarian willing to do it at her library. The library book club member sponsors the project and donated the mailbox.
