We think our community will be very keen to embark on this journey with us, as our customers are very passionate about supporting our initiatives to bring people together, whether through our two book clubs or our  literary events featuring Canadian authors.

 Almonte is known as the hometown of James Naismith (Inventor of Basketball), and as the setting of numerous feel- good  "Hallmark" movies, particularly those with a Christmas Romance theme. The bookstore has been here for 29 years, and I am the third owner. I experienced my own "Hallmark" moment during the pandemic, when I quit my Engineering career in Montreal, to move to this charming small town to buy  this bookstore. and be warmly welcomed by this wonderful community.
