Hello from Beyond Text Bookstore in Los Gatos, California!
We chose the name Beyond Text because we believe a book is never just text on a page. It's also illustrations, memories, conversations, emotions, unexpected connections, and even the smell and weight of the book itself.
We've been open for two years now, and my favorite part of running a bookstore has been watching people connect through stories.
That's also why we love letters. A good letter is a little story, a conversation, and a connection all at once. The Sunday Letter Project feels like a natural fit for our bookstore, and we're excited to help connect pen pals from around the world.

We are a collective of local makers, artists and upcyclers. One of our artists had suggested I look into this Sunday letter project and I am so, so glad she did!!! After reading her handwritten card to me, I couldn't help but feel warmly nostalgic, and genuinely happy thinking about how thoughtful and intentional it was. It was a good feeling. And I hope to help spread that! It feels like such a great fit for our little shop!

Sleepy Dog Books
Sleepy Dog Books
120 East Broadway
Mount Pleasant, Michigan 48858
USA
Sleepy Dog Books was formed from the passion of two career educators to serve the community we call home, the place where we are raising our children, and the culture we want to support through literary offerings, community programs, and local events. A shared passion for literacy led to the formation of the idea that would become Sleepy Dog Books. A simple idea with endless possibilities, formed as a touchpoint for a community and as a catalyst for passion, thinking, and the collective good. Sleepy Dog Books was founded on the ideals of a family and community business and we will strive to serve every reader who enters our doors. Sleepy Dog Books’ mission is to provide a high-quality retail experience for customers and readers of any age. We seek to provide a comfortable atmosphere for our customers that promotes browsing, relaxation, and community engagement. As parents, educators, and literary advocates, we want Sleepy Dog Books to become a tremendous resource for readers of all ages in the Mt. Pleasant community and far beyond.
Blue Heron Books
Blue Heron Books
62 Brock Street West
Uxbridge, Ontario L9P 1N1
The unpretentious atmosphere of Blue Heron Books, with its comfy chairs, wood shelving, and creaky floors, lends itself to a long, slow, browsing session. However, under that sleepy atmosphere vibrates a strong pulse.
The store has a quaint, old-fashioned look with an up-tempo vibe because there is always something happening! In its storied, thirty-five-plus-year history, Blue Heron Books has played host to and continues to showcase a veritable who’s who of the world’s literary community. Hosting legendary events with such literary superstars as Mona Awad, John Irving, Michael Ondaatje, Louise Penny, Fredrik Backman, Yann Martel, Douglas Coupland, and Dav Pilkey, to name a few, our customers are able to rub shoulders and gain insight from a star-studded cast.
In 2019, Blue Heron Books inaugurated The Book Drunkard Literary Festival, setting the stage for another interesting chapter in Blue Heron Books’ history. Two-time winner of The Libris Award (Best Bookstore in Canada) and named as a favourite by the legendary Stuart McLean, Blue Heron Books values its location in a 200-year-old building located in the busy and popular shopping area once frequented by former resident Lucy Maud Montgomery.
The store is a hub for the community and a bastion of friendly chaos where everyone is welcome.
Old Goat Books
8 William Street East,
Waterloo,
Ontario Canada N2J 1K9
We are a second-hand bookstore in a city with two universities and a college. We have been serving this lovely community of readers since 2001. We specialize in science fiction, fantasy, and history. In December of 2023, the bookstore suffered a fire at the original location that caused extensive smoke damage to our entire collection. After having the books professionally cleaned and deodorized (a huge task), we moved to 8 William Street East, just down the street. We are now happily nestled in this old livery stable building with our 16 000 or so (clean!) books!
Athena Stationery & Cafe
Athena Stationery & Cafe
1004 Brookstown Ave.
Winston Salem NC 27101.
We are two best friends (Daphne & Becca) who wanted to bring a stationery shop to our city because we both came from places where stationery shops were a staple. We felt that with our combined skills and creativity we could bring something unique to Winston Salem. We are all about fostering our community of artists and helping them on their journey to finding their voice, spreading their message or gathering to meet like minded individuals. We had our grand opening this past weekend and it could not have gone better. Our community really showed up and we can't wait to introduce this project to them.

Ruperts
Ruperts
1/66 Ridgway
Mirboo North Vic 3871
Australia
Nestled in the beautiful Strzelecki Ranges, Ruperts is a thoughtfully curated gift and homewares store, lovingly owned by Emma. Ruperts celebrates meaningful connection, creativity and community. Since making Mirboo North their home, the store has become part of a town known for its country hospitality, its vibrant community spirit and strong sense of belonging.
Becoming Letter Keepers for The Sunday Letter Project is especially meaningful to Emma and Tash. Tash introduced Emma to the project, and since then they have both embraced it as sentimental souls who have each kept old letters collected over the years. These treasured collections of cards, handwritten notes, and correspondence mark different seasons of their lives and hold memories, milestones, and the voices of people they love. In a world that moves so quickly, Emma and Tash find something incredibly special about slowing down to write a letter and knowing that someone has taken the time to do the same in return.
At Ruperts, we love celebrating thoughtful gestures and meaningful connections, so helping people rediscover the joy of letter writing feels like a natural fit. We're delighted to be part of The Sunday Letter Project and look forward to helping keep this beautiful tradition alive, one letter at a time.

Elizabethtown PA 17022
“My shop and our patrons are so excited to be a part of The Sunday Letter Project! I'm a NYC transplant that moved to the countryside of Lancaster Pennsylvania, in a little village called Elizabethtown. I worked as a film archivist for the last 15 years and when it seemed that the road was coming to an end, I decided to open a creperie /tea parlor in the heart of our little downtown in December of 2024. The last year and a half has brought so much magic from our community including a proposal between our two favorite regulars (Jack & Alexa) , and intimate wedding celebration ( Devin & Sierra), community food drives, and countless celebrations within these tiny little walls. When I read about The Sunday Letter project it sounded exactly like I , and my fellow community were craving.”

Danville, CA 94526
USA
We're in a lovely little town in California called Danville. Favorite Story has been online for about 12 years and we opened our brick and mortar in November 2024. We welcome any excuse to turn away from our screens and believe taking a moment just to think, dream, reflect or simply notice the world around us feeds our minds and souls. We try to use our shop to build community and connection through workshops, events and just the day to day, face to face interactions we get to have in a physical, in the real world shop. Being a letter-keeper fits right in with that goal and we're thrilled to be part of the Sunday Letter Project.

Our hope is to create a gentle space where people can come, sit down, and disconnect from their devices. We want to encourage people to be present, quiet, and feel the beauty in little moments. We are the only greeting card and stationary store in our area, and we’ve received quite a lot of excitement from our local community since we opened on February 14th, 2026. Our Tea Library is filled with luxury loose leaf blends designed to be taken home, shared with a friend, gifted with love, or enjoyed in the quiet moments of your day. While we don't serve tea to drink in-store, we do get to be part of people's everyday rituals and meaningful milestones, the cozy nights in, the “thinking of you” packages, the self-care Sundays, and the moments where a handwritten note and a warm mug make the world feel softer. Our shop feels like stepping into a storybook, and we're so excited to welcome new pen pals through the Sunday Letter Project'

Lost Books Cebu is an independent bookshop in the heart of Cebu City, Philippines. A quirky fact about our bookstore is that it is housed inside a repurposed ATM vestibule. It is just around 10 square feet, but every corner of our small shop bears works of local creatives. Our bookshop focused on books written by local writers, from Cebu and from the Visayas region, and books on Visayan history and culture. We also carry books written by other Filipino writers and a curated selection of international titles. Just recently, we have been offering rare, vintage, and antiquarian books, too, about the Philippines written around the time the West discovered the Philippine Islands, its people, and culture.
